What trips up your Vision? 5 tips to avoid potential crashes.

by Cheryl Brewster

There’s an expression that Poet Robbie Burns is famous for: Best-laid plans of mice and men oft(en) go astray, and best-laid schemes o’ mice an’ men gang aft a-gley. In other words, things often go wrong despite your well laid plans. (The gang aft a-gley version is Scots dialect, and comes from Robert Burns’ poem “To a Mouse.”)

So let’s talk about that; the despair, disappointment and dread that can arise with sudden, drastic unexpected change:
You’ve set your Vision and goals of what you want to create, live, and be, however very quickly, things outside of your control have altered the speed or course of that Vision.  Life happens, unexpected events occur and one of two things can result:

1. Feelings of anxiety or trauma can take over leading you to unconsciously focus on what you “don’t want,” which will lead to more of the same… exactly what you don’t want, including the life-sucking pit that sucks you into emotional vortexes of worry and helplessness.

2. Or,  you will focus on what you DO want, including your positive emotional state, which will create just that; the reality of joy that can co-exist with challenge. And that’s freedom! Knowing that no matter what happens you’ll be okay… that you can and will handle it. It’s the expansion of the soul that is occuring – like a container that gets stronger to “hold” all of what you are going through, returning you to a sense of safety.

The beauty of absolutely keeping your focus only on what you do want to feel and create, is the  INSTANT relief it provides:

  • By switching your focus from  stress and negative emotion, you take control of what you want to  experience in the moment; you claim the power of alternate dimensions or realities that support, not tear down
  • You think more creatively and begin to see new  possibilities; you become more effective; remember negative emotion impedes the brain
  • You increase  focus and a positive mental attitude for consistency in effectiveness, solutions and inspired, authentic action
  • Creativity, expansiveness, intuition  and mind power expand (as opposed to the reverse)
  • Course correction, an essential yet easily overlooked tool to personal growth becomes more automatic
  • And most importantly, keeping your focus on what you DO want, helps to foster Mindfulness which is about paying attention in a particular way; on purpose, in the present moment, and non-Judgmentally (Jon Kabat-Zinn)

So how best to create these benefits and avoid the potential hazards that can trip us up in following our Vision?

1. Think of yourself as an athlete in training.
By visioning you decided to make your life better; that includes releasing the pain of resisting change as it comes up.

2. Know your Stress Patterns
They’re the habits that switch your focus from “do want” to “don’t want” – what triggers them? Brainstorm solutions so you’re prepared for life’s predictable curve balls.

3. Course correct those stress patterns through awareness and focus… acting in unity with your vision in itself creates unification.

4. Keep your focus on what you love to do. All the time!
As Susan Jeffers warned in Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway,  “Your mind only takes off on its own when you’re not telling it what to do”.

5. Keep a Gratitude/Blessings Journal – it increases your vibrational frequency; the energy that aligns you to your higher values, and magnetics of manifesting heart’s desire.

If don’t currently have a “Vision Awareness Practice,” consider incorporating these for the next week and share with me what happens! All the research in self discovery and personal development for success in life and business points to the importance of constant repetition… this isn’t just once in a while thing. For full effectiveness it becomes a daily practice that over time builds and sustains the joy of life, in all circumstances.

Prosperity Thinking and Gratitude

by Cheryl Brewster

I’m so grateful for the guiding principles that have inspired my life. Introduced by Steven Covey in his popular book,  The Seven Habits of Highly Effective people, the following simple phrase is one of the most powerful intuitive tools I’ve used:

“Begin with the end in Mind.”

Take a moment and a couple of deep breaths to reflect on this concept, and perhaps you, like me, will notice the following.

Begin with the End in Mind:

  • Immediately connects you to Prosperity; that bigger picture of inspiration and possibility that is always available when you direct your focus to it.
  • Activates the flow of intelligence that dynamically transforms difficulty into “I can do it!” inspired action
  • Reveals solutions  or new directions not accesible by the logical mind
  • Brings clarity and reveals limiting beliefs that you can drop with more ease
  • Connects you to your body wisdom and visual mind’s eye, where you “just know” or “see the optimal thing to do”

As a Conscious Changemaker  building your personal prosperity from the inside out, consider these 10 Tips:

  1. Identify a current challenge in your life and focus on “the End in in Mind”; notice the ideas that “pop” into your awareness
  2. Use an intuitive journal…. write down the ideas, “knowings,” images and inspirations that appear
  3. Jot down the synchronicities that occur; how are they related to your End in Mind reflection?
  4. Use visualization to go deeper; use imagination; let the scene play out, like watching a movie.
  5. Notice that over time, positive thought and feeling really do transform fear, so this becomes a Good Habit!
  6. Use the phrase as a mantra to bring focus. It will override doubt and the gravitational pull of staying stuck
  7. Use it as a practice  to generate more personal power
  8. You will forget from time to time.  The ABC’s of Intuition will help you to remember… Aware, Breathe, Connect to the End in Mind to get back on track
  9. Practice, practice, practice!
  10. Include kindness, compassion – they accelerate the process of awakening authentic power

While intuition lies beyond the logical, rational mind, thoughts and feelings are ENERGY…. when we master our focus and feelings, we become masters of this energy…. we begin to direct it more consciously; we keep our vision on the End in Mind so that despite challenges, we take small, consistent steps forward. Those small steps comprise the big leaps possible only by being AWARE of where we are focused or distracted, so we can kindly and compassionately course correct.

We can’t underestimate the power of imagination in activating our intuition…. Einstein recalled how, at the age of 16, he imagined chasing after a beam of light and how this experiment  played a memorable role in his development of special relativity.

The Intuitive Life is comprised of benefits that begin with the End in Mind. They are many…. what are they for you? Do you, like me….

  • feel more empowered and reminded that you have personal freedom and choice?
  • remember that no matter what happens, you are tapped into optimum solution at all times?
  • build your  “commitment muscles” that over time, automatically relax those “resistance muscles”?
  • consciously, deliberately choose more fun and joy as you  awaken into your true nature?
  • feel more inspired and grateful for the abundance and prosperity that is already here?

Begin with the End in Mind truly is Prosperity Thinking and Gratitude. From that place in my heart to yours; Happy Thanksgiving!

Empowerment Amid Transition

by Cheryl Brewster

Conscious Changemakers are Brave!

Awareness breaks the cycle of fear; transition becomes opportunity, possibility and even excitement! Empowerment through Transition…  Clarity and wisdom distilled by you choosing a POSITIVE life experience; creating prosperity from the upheaval that feels anything but positive. Here’s to your Joy, Trust and Courage as a Conscious Changemaker! Remember… we were born to be Happy.

In my recent workshops that address these issues, 4 key steps stand out as superior navigation tools to ride the transformative waves of emotion and change we’re going through:

Four Steps to Empowerment Amid Transition using the ABC’s of Intuition
Aware, Breathe, Connect

1. What are your top 4 prosperity fears?
Remember prosperity isn’t just financial… it applies to all of life’s areas.
When you name them, you identify your fears; they are no longer vague, slippery, lurking or screaming shadows that can never be nailed down and resolved.

2. Trace the energy signature.
Where did this fear come from? See where it leads to… notice where you can take this on as your personal identity rather than just a fear.

3. What triggers the fears?
While you can’t control the people and events around you – you can choose your response. Courage is required! Remember that pain will show us what needs to change but suffering and overly zealous self recrimination are useless. This is choice point. Do you want to stay stuck in the trigger or break free by dropping the charge?

4. What changes can I make to focus on peace instead?
This is your portal of power; the transformative pipeline that takes you from fear and heavy negative energy to peace and knowing. Your own personal energy signature knows what to do and takes you straight to that place of freedom within you. Fear can be transformed to inspired action!

Got the Blahs? 5 ways to move them along

by Cheryl Brewster

Let’s be honest with ourselves. Sometimes we go through cycles and no matter how much we try to stay positive, look on the bright side and trust the process, we just don’t FEEL it. And when we don’t FEEL it, motivation to do normal everyday things, let alone propel our visions forward can feel totally out of reach.

But it doesn’t have to be that way.

We can shift from “the blahs” very easily by following this simple process:

1. Bless the Blahs
Blessing actually dissipates the blahs while resistance makes them stronger. How do you bless what you don’t like? There are always options. Lots of them… the blahs are letting you know that the choices you’re making right now aren’t giving you the energy you need to be present and enjoying life. They’re letting you know that you are shutting down somewhere. Like a good friend letting you know you’ve got something stuck in your teeth, the blahs are momentarily painful but wouldn’t you rather KNOW?! So blessing the blahs is proactive; it releases that stored up emotional energy in order to….

2. Apply the ABC’s of Prosperous Intuition, Aware/Breathe/Connect
Awareness is everything! Now that you are consciously acknowledging that you have the blahs… rather than ask “why” you have them, a better question is “what am I going to do about them?” Consciously invite three deep breaths and I guarantee that something extraordinary will happen. Possibilities begin to flash through your mind; images, thoughts, inspirations and as you CONNECT with them, your ability to think outside the “box of blahs,” is enhanced… suddenly you realize you have the power to choose something more invigorating and freeing. You realize that “inspired action is a choice,” and you can choose it instantly, which helps you to….

3. De-throne the Critical Voice
Who put it in charge anyway? Notice that when you have the blahs there’s something else in charge… and it ISN’T pretty! It goes for the jugular every single time. When you don’t feel good about yourself, you shut down; you become powerless and helpless to change things. Not anymore! The blahs are an invitation to recognize where you are allowing yourself to be bullied by a harmful voice that is not yours. Be clear: if the voice behind the blahs is not helping focus on solution, drop it. See it for what it is and refuse to listen to it a second longer. This is NOT the voice of intuition. When you Take Your Stand for the affirming voice of intuition rather than the constant berating of the critical voice, positive change does occur!  You are claiming your role as a Conscious Changemaker!

4. Stop the Blame Game now and forever
The critical voice is insidious. It’s focus is purely negative, condemning and life-zapping. In her book Feel the Fear and do it anyway, Susan Jeffers said it best: “Taking responsibility means not blaming yourself. Anything that takes away your power or your pleasure makes you a victim. Don’t make yourself a victim of yourself.” Blame is never the answer. Is there blame in your blah? If so, would you choose to stay in a vat of corrosive chemicals? That’s what you’re doing by staying in blame; this is toxic and needs to stop… NOW. This becomes a way of life; not only a now and then thing.

5. FEEL those positive vibes!
Intuition has only one objective: your highest good. It is always solutions-based. The ABC’s of Prosperous Intuition help you become Aware that the solution is already here; Breathe into it and Connect to that FEELING state of solution… When you attune yourself to the vibration of solution, you purposely put intuition/solutions back into the driver’s seat of your life. You are deliberately trusting the inner wisdom that sees behind the scenes. Suddenly the route and the destination are no longer scary, heavy, overwhelming or out of reach. You do not need to wait for things to change because YOU have; blessing the blahs and releasing the blame game, the critical voice and the past help clear the obstructions to solution that were here all along. You begin to see that every problem is a solution just waiting to be uncovered; you feel lighter, freer and open to the possibilities that exist. You see routes you did not see before, have thoughts you did not think before, and are inspired rather than deflated. Intuition is the key to prosperity on all levels… why? Because it always points you to the solution that is here NOW. So bless those blahs; and you intuitively ignite the flame of prosperity already inside of you…feel the relief and joy of solution here now and let it carry you through inspired action.

Let’s be honest with ourselves. Staying inspired with a clear mind takes effort. Very few people are actually naturally positive most of the time; it does take work! To help achieve a consistent intuitive/positive mindset, consider an intuitive reading or mentor program to get you started on your way to dropping those old patterns and embracing the new ones that your intuition has been whispering to you about! Steve Jobs, founder of Apple Computers said it best, “Intuition is a discipline.”  I couldn’t agree more – I can help! I know what it’s like to struggle with staying positive amid the emotional challenges of stretching those good old comfort zones. That’s why I love what I do; I know solutions exist…. we just need to stay open to them.
