Get Back Up Again! You Can Do It!

by Cheryl Brewster

Do you need an attitude adjustment? I know I often do. Despite all the times I’ve triumphantly faced fear in the past, an alarm bell still rudely announces a comfort zone.

You too?!

Doesn’t it feel good to know that you’re not alone? As you face your fears, take comfort because you’ve been willing to grow. Growth is more important than fear, and yet if there’s an upside to fear, it’s good at making us review our choices. In the War of Art, Steven Pressfield inspires us from his experience: “Are you paralyzed with fear? That’s a good sign. Fear is good. Like self-doubt, fear is an indicator. Fear tells us what we have to do… the more scared we are of a work or calling, the more sure we can be that we have to do it.”

I’ve come to recognize that the fear and pain in confronting a comfort zone is most often the pain of “not” doing it. When I channel that pain, I bust through. It’s hard, gritty work, this busting through… as Carl Jung said, “there’s no coming to consciousness without pain.” As I continue to grow, exciting things happen – the more I accept what I don’t like, the more power I have to move through it… it’s ironic how all that fear really isn’t the evil monster it appears to be… fear is simply energy with the impurity of judgement being pulled out of it so it can be used productively.

What’s the One Thing You Can Control?
This one thing I’ve learned is that it doesn’t really matter how much fear I’m experiencing… what’s more important in determining an effective outcome, is my “attitude” about the fear.  Sometimes I feel the fear and do it anyway, and sometimes I don’t… it can feel bigger than me. But my attitude? Absolutely, that’s totally in my control and it’s a good wake-up call to review it regularly.

So take heart… some days we are brilliant at life. In others, we feel like we’re in a bad movie and can’t get out. It’s okay! We’re growing! The world can feel a bit (or a lot) surreal in the depth of these changes. Just remember this one thing…. as overstated and simplistic as it sounds, I don’t think we should ever get tired of appreciating that… attitude truly is everything! Attitude can be seen as an oracle; it will predict our future. Accurately. Every time. Hence, the importance of “deep listening to Source, and the courage to take time out, to pause, reflect and give ourselves the time and space to think. That’s part of “attitudinal healing.”

Attitude is defined as “a feeling or way of thinking that affects a person’s behavior.” When I judge fear I shutdown, I close my heart. And when I close my heart, I stop creating, and when I stop creating, I lose my joy. And life is just way too precious to do that! So that’s where forgiveness comes in; recognizing where my attitude needs to change. Forgiveness breaks the cycle.  It brings light to the darkness and dispels the shadow that can become so thick, it dams the joy of life. I’ve come to call this harmful aspect of ego the “inner KGB” – an acronym for “Killer Gremlin Brutality”  gone overboard. If not caught, it becomes devastating.

As Michael Singer so aptly describes in his book The Untethered Soul, “right now, many fragmented parts of your psyche are held within you. If you want to be free, it all has to be equally exposed to your awareness and released.”  He describes how when a blockage gets hit, “it’s a good thing – it’s time to open up internally and release the blocked energy.”

What’s the One Thing You Can Do?
“If you fall along the way, just get up and forget it. Use the lesson to strengthen your resolve. Let go right then. Do not rationalize, blame or try to figure it out. Don’t do anything. Just let go immediately and allow the energy to go back to the highest centre of consciousness it can achieve. If you feel shame, let it go. If you feel fear, let it go. All of these are the remnants of the blocked energy that is finally being purified…. the whole process is very exciting, and you will have good times and bad times. All sorts of things will happen. That’s the fun of the journey.”

Where are you on your journey of life and business? Prosperity has many forms, but its key common denominator, is peace of mind. May you continue to grow, be brave, get back up again when it’s hard and celebrate your successes even in the lean times. Gratitude, like attitude is everything. Keep on keeping on… your intuition will always show you the way.

  • An entrepreneur’s forgiveness prayer…. for all the things that I should’ve, could’ve done, I forgive myself, so I can get up and do what I need to do and not feel bad about it… but instead, be excited about it!
  • A mother’s forgiveness prayer…. for not being able to do the impossible, I forgive myself, and resolve to be clear on what I can do and let that be enough
  • A creative’s forgiveness prayer… for how hard I’ve worked to suppress my talent, I forgive myself
  • A world prayer… for how I judged and didn’t see, the beauty that was inside of me…. may I be at peace and be happy, may all beings be at peace and be happy

Harness the Untapped Power of Procrastination

by Cheryl Brewster

Do you find yourself running into perfectionism? Those debilitating stopping places where no matter how hard you try, you just can’t seem to bust through? Me too.  Instead of fighting procrastination,  the tendency to keep putting things off that I find uncomfortable, I’ve come to see it as an early warning detection system that I can use productively. In fact, procrastination can be saying that “it’s time for another adventure.”

  1. Procrastination shows up when I’m challenging myself, so yay me! It’s the confirmation and encouragement to bust outside comfort zones and the natural fear of failure inherent in change
  2. It’s the psyche’s way of inviting more creatively and authentically, not bound by old rules of perfectionism. This targets more focus and depth and I’m better able to drop the habitual “negative memory bias” of the primal brain’s need to protect at all costs
  3. Procrastination can be alerting me to low energy which needs to be rectified; it forces me to stop and ask the question; if I’m not in flow right now, what will help me get there?
  4. Procrastination can be interpreted as intuition’s call to be more present. By taking a “Mindful Minute” to check-in, I’m acknowledging and centering myself into a more nurturing state of acceptance. I get to enjoy this moment rather than dread it;  I get to change my focus from limitation to the quantum field of infinite possibilities.
  5. Procrastination is s a sure sign that it’s time to exchange judgment and self-recrimination for gratitude and appreciation, otherwise life becomes all work and no play; always striving but never arriving, and that’s not fun at all. In fact, the blessing in procrastination in many ways, is the call to more empowered states.

The research on gratitude, kindness and appreciation is astonishing and the antidote to procrastination and perfectionism.

Thoughts of kindness and gratitude take us out of survival mode and into thriving. At the University of Zurich, a study demonstrated that when you display kindness or compassion, a hormone called oxytocin shuts down the survival centers in the brain’s amygdala. Since the amygdala is wired for four basic emotions: fear/anxiety, sadness/pain, anger/aggression and love/joy, oxytocin “cools off” the brain circuits that are wired for survival, leaving a love and joy for life. From this state, we’ve got access to expanded states of consciousness that invite flow, creativity and solutions we can’t see when we are in survival mode.

Gratitude and appreciation return us to logic of clear thinking and the ability to master unhelpful and destructive emotions.  As Nassim Taleb, a scholar on uncertainty noted, “real strength lies in the control or the domestication of one’s emotions, not in pretending they don’t exist.”

So the next time you go into the “spin cycle” of procrastination with its inherent subtle and not so subtle feelings, habits, conscious and unconscious programs, remember… every challenge contains within it, the solution. Even procrastination therefore, serves a productive purpose and the sooner we leverage it, the better we feel, the deeper we go into the joy of creativity, authentic living and the fulfillment of creative desire and accomplishment.

Call to action: the next time procrastination or fear of failure comes up for you, consider using it as your early warning detection system, alerting you to self-kindness, appreciation and gratitude to birth something new. You’ll be glad you did.

Goals are energy – are your “vibes” getting in the way?

by Cheryl Brewster

mindfulness affectionate attentionGoals are great – they give us a focus for getting things done. However how we feel about our ourselves is just as important as the goal itself. Why? Notice any goals/areas in your life that you have not yet been successful in accomplishing. If you felt better about yourself, would they be as difficult to accomplish?  Probably not!

Could it be that easy?
YES!
And we have our past successes to prove it.

Survey your past, and you’ll be surprised, encouraged and amazed by what you find…. your most gloriously successful, meaningful moments  occurred when you were feeling good about yourself, and made something great happen… even though the circumstances may have been difficult, when you trusted the “feel good vibe” in you – you accomplished amazing feats. You were in flow.

That’s what author Esther Hicks In The Astonishing Power of Emotions, really drills in:
“In your physical format, you tend to be action oriented; when you begin to approach your world in terms of vibration rather than action, in terms of thought rather than time/space/distance, your ability to close the gap between where you are and where you want to be will be much more efficient.”

She stresses that we must be a “vibrational match to our desires,” BEFORE we take action. This is a more “mindful” approach to goal setting because we take the time to “check-in” before-hand, rather than setting goals from a sense of duty or assumption – we tap into the evolutionary power within that is guiding us to the highest expression of ourselves. Goals like business planning, weight loss, getting organized, increasing sales, etc., become far less onerous and so much more inviting when approached from this perspective. We can meet any resistance with more grace and choose better feeling thoughts about ourselves as the inevitable resistance comes up.

3 easy steps to more mindful goals:

  1. Go inside.
Recall a happy time in your life, when you felt confident and clear… align to that vitality and then ask…. What current priority is the most amazing to accomplish today  this week/month, etc?). Be present with the ideas, visions, intuitions that come forward. Really FEEL the great vibes, embody them. For example, sometimes it feels difficult to stay in a positive vibe, but if we recall our successful past selves, we have a proven image, and a feeling of determination – we’ve done it before (opened to flow) and we can do it again.
  2. Decide.
High vibration thoughts generate high vibration feelings. There is no shortage of high vibration…. it’s the very life force within us… it loves, adores and appreciates us. We literally become love in action. When we “pay attention in a particular way, on purpose, non-judgmentally, to the unfolding of the experience moment to moment” (Jon Kabat-Zinn)  we are practicing high vibration living…. we are practicing mindfulness. When lower vibration/scarcity thoughts come in, they have no where to stick.  And if/when they do because we inadvertently let our energy dip by judging the experience, we simply notice, drop the judgment and put our attention back to flow.
  3. Visualize “I Did It!”
No matter what comes up, stay focused on triumph. Just changing mindset from fear to focus is “an immediate I Did It Moment!” Consistent focus on the joy of completing our goals, over time drops old patterns and keeps us in the present moment…. we’re not hounded by fears from the past that are being projected into the future. How exciting to hold this consciousness now! What once potentially spelled dread can now spell anticipation – unseen perspectives fall open and we have access to wisdom and worlds we never had before. And that’s the joy of mindful goal-setting.. enjoying this amazing experience of creation. Mindful goal setting becomes a lifestyle, an inside-out approach to life that is far more sustaining than the “I’ll be happy when” seduction that promises but never delivers lasting confidence. Visualization is high octane to personal effectiveness and a powerful tool to reduce anxiety.

Here’s to your  “I DID IT!” moments  that will flourish as you get into the vibe that completes your goals with more ease.

As you incorporate this into your life, please share your insights with us!

Struggling to “Get Things Done?” Choose Peace!

by Cheryl Brewster

“The ABCs of Intuition,” are a form of mindfulness that I developed several years ago.  The simplicity of “Aware, Breathe, Connect” increases awareness, which expands choice. Where are we really putting our thoughts and energy? Is it effective?  As we learn to expand awareness through the breath, we learn how to drop stress. This connects us purposefully back into our inner wisdom, the home of solutions. Easy to say, harder to do.

Part of managing change effectively is knowing that no matter what happens, we can handle it. We will know what to do. Choosing peace on a daily basis is more than an affirmation. It’s a lifestyle choice. A powerful one. It’s a daily practice that frees up creative energy and best practice solutions. Choosing peace is mindfulness in action, leading to new insights, options and expanded awareness.

What happens as you make peace a purposeful, deliberate choice, in getting things done today? How will it affect your results? How will you feel about yourself and your day?

Simplicity knocks the socks off stress. It engages flow and keeps us tapped into the rhythm of life.  Imagine the power of flow in your life by daily, consistently, making peace your practice in getting things done! What would your projects look like from this perspective? How about how you communicate with others, and those tricky triggers that can come up when you least expect them?

Peace is power. It’s a commodity we don’t use as often as we could.  It leads to healthy self-image, the cornerstone result of  personal effectiveness, self-growth and development. It’s pre-requisite to true prosperity ensures long-term, authentic success. In its daily practice, we increase the value of our investment. But we can only do so, through a firm resolve and determination to stay on track, no matter what.  Easy to say, harder to do, but so worth the effort.

Inspire a Fresh Beginning for Better Results!

by Cheryl Brewster

Inspire a fresh beginning! Inspiration is defined as a good idea; a force or influence that makes someone want to do something or that gives someone an idea about what to do or create.

Inspiration is a vehicle of intuition,  essential to personal development and successful business growth. It’s food for the soul! When we get stuck (which is a part of stretching comfort zones), the Power of Inspiration calms our worried minds, invigorates our pioneering spirit and fires our creativity. Inspiration is the door to infinite possibility, so let’s open it!

Are-You-Willing-To-Be-The-DoorwayIt’s downright SMART to make room for inspiration:
1. Inspiration feeds our goals – an inspired goal is far more likely to be completed than one that’s not.
2. Inspiration is the power of positive change:  if you’ve got something you’ve been avoiding or delaying, what would inspiration tell you? I guarantee some immediate answers you’d never have “thought of!”
3. Studies have shown that inspired people get more done and experience more purpose and gratitude.

To be inspired and stay inspired: sign
1. Inspiration cannot be forced… it “comes” to us… however what helps, is to make time for it…. unplug, relax, and for a few moments right now, take a deep breath and ask yourself, what inspires me?
2. Create an “Inspiration List” – in only a couple of minutes you’ll feel more invigorated and connected.
2. What does inspiration  invokes in terms of feelings and images and write/draw those too. Use the five senses to go even deeper… what song best represents this inspiration? Find it and play it. What body movement would honour this inspiration? Do it. Any sort of physical action helps to make a connection to the brain – to “lock-in” this experience, especially done repeatedly to strengthen new neural pathways.
3. Check your goals – do they inspire you? If not, re-evaluate. If however, your task must be completed, regardless of whether you feel inspired or not, ask Inspiration for its advice… what would make this task more palatable? By connecting with the feelings/images, you’ll find a greater capacity to take action.
4. Inspiration feeds commitment – rather than flash in the pan ideas, inspiration takes you through the long-haul… add an affirmation to the inspiration to fire-up commitment even further.
5. Inspiration is a component of integrity – it keeps us true to what’s important to us and shows us where we are/are not living our values – it helps us course correct and drop negative habits that have built up over time.

Inspire a fresh beginning! Whether personal development, relationships or business goals, inspiration is the energy of action, accomplishment and positive change. It keeps us in sync with the deeper meaning of life, aligned with our values and invites greater openness and flexibility. Essential to positive relationships, communication and common goals, inspiration is a key force behind successful business practices and inter-personal relationships.

 Action Step:
What would inspire you more at home and at work? What steps can you take this week to be in integrity with these possibilities? Inspire a Fresh Beginning, and engage faith, focus and follow-through to determine and accomplish the goals that feed the prosperity of your soul on all levels.

Mastering Change – Even When It’s Hard

by Cheryl Brewster

If you’re like me, you love change when it’s something that you really want or have been looking forward to for a long time.  The “other” change… you know the kind… the “dreaded” change; either the one you KNOW you need to make, or the unexpected ones that you don’t want and can’t control, what do you do with THAT kind of change?

From my own experience and in researching this subject with private clients and workshop participants, these tools are effective in mastering both wanted and unexpected change whether in life or in business:

1. Know Yourself
Even good change takes energy, so are you following the basics of self care to ensure your energy expenditure is going to the appropriate places? Are you re-filling your own cup to manage change… if not, what needs to shift to make this a priority? What habits serve you well, and which don’t?

2. Breathe!
We are creatures of habit… it’s natural to feel uncomfortable with change. Acknowledging stress without judging it is hugely helpful; of course you’d feel uncomfortable based on your past patterns….and…. what can you do in this moment to make it a bit easier on yourself? What helps the uncomfortable part feel just a little (or a lot) more comfortable? A simple practice of the ABCs of Intuition is super powerful…. Aware of what’s going on, Breathing into it, and Connecting to the heart, slows things down so we can feel our center again. Simple is effective!

3. Choose Empowerment – over and over again
Often our emotions can take over and fear or the need to control the outcome can send us straight into the “spin cycle” of rash decisions on the one extreme or paralysis on the other. Asking the question, what would empowerment do in this situation and then allowing ourselves to hear the answer and feel the feeling of empowerment are split second decisions that provide immediate relief and foster healthy patterns.

If you’re like me, knowing you’re making progress in navigating “change as the new normal,” is incredibly satisfying. It’s that rock solid, “in your gut knowing that whatever comes your way, you can handle it. It’s the courage to change, answering the call to to greater awareness, creative expression and living life on your own terms. It’s Mastering Change, Even When it’s Hard.

Growth Through Struggle

by Cheryl Brewster

It’s inevitable. Struggle, heartbreak, challenge, disappointment and adversity are all a part of life. Although we may be intellectually accepting of this fact, remembering this emotionally  can be another story.    “The necessity for struggle… forces individuals to expand, develop, progress, and become strong through resistance. Struggle can, and does, become either an ordeal or a magnificent experience through which the individual expresses gratitude for the opportunity to conquer the cause of the struggle.” This proven principle by one of the world’s greatest influencers Napoleon Hill,  is a key tool in personal effectiveness and begs the question:

How do we ensure that struggle while initially, can feel like an ordeal, doesn’t stay that way? How do we transform  struggle into a magnificent, triumphant experience?

1. Focus your Thoughts!
The only thing you ever have control over is your freedom to choose. You may not be able to control events, but you CAN control how empowered or dis-empowered your response is. Thoughts are things and are incredibly powerful! Are you aware and directing your thoughts toward what you want, or swept away by what you don’t want? Which leads us to the next step….

2. Have a clear desire or purpose
A clearly defined purpose is an agreement that you make with yourself to control and direct your thoughts. It creates a compelling vision that that keeps you true to what’s most important. Purpose is like the “overdrive” in a car – when we need that extra power to climb those steep  hills, we have it when we need it. Without purpose, we don’t have the overdrive or the GPS… with purpose…. we are ASSURED that whatever comes up, we can handle it – we’re willing to pay the price of temporary discomfort, defeat or failure and keep going!  Over time, we learn to  overcome distraction, overwhelm and fear; our focus is on the deeper resources inside that help us enjoy life as we accomplish goals, even in the midst of the struggle…. because the struggle after all is meant to make us stronger, which leads us to….

3. Practice emotional cleansing everyday
Simple or advanced, emotional clearing techniques are essential; consistently using the ABCs of Intuition (Aware, Breathe, Connect) puts you back in charge…. awareness of what’s going on, breathing to release limitation, the old story, with it’s knee-jerk reactions,  etc., removes huge internal limitations. The more aware we are that resistance is natural and normal, it naturally dissolves to reveal the gems beneath it. Which brings us to the next key step to connect to those hidden gems and use them…..

4. Inner Contemplation
Ask how the person you wish to become would handle the struggle – a wonderful, dynamic panorama of ideas will appear on your mental screen… you’ll feel the options and possibilities in your body. Once you’ve done that, go into stillness to simply be.  The power of this step is getting you out of the mind trying to figure things out, and into an EXPERIENCE.   The power of stillness is huge! It’s what taps us into the subconscious  mind where solutions we weren’t able to access previously, are available. Insights may come immediately or later in the day, but guaranteed, through this process more insights, empowerment, confidence and the power to manage thinking does come, which takes us to the next important step…..

5. Take inspired action
Baby steps or massive action, from this place of inspiration, you’ll “know” the right thing to do. Self confidence blossoms, new energy appears and a sense of peace that comes from the underlying truth that all “really is well in my world,” emerges, which naturally creates the next step of….

6. Gratitude
The benefits that couldn’t possible have existed without the struggle are revealed; again it may happen immediately or later, but in the proven work of Napoleon Hill and other great thinkers, there is always “the seed of equal or greater benefit” in all hardship. This is the eternal truth of life’s promise… the question is, do we actually believe it?

These 6 Power Tips use the positive side of resistance… the negative side is refusing to consider that a positive side to struggle could possibly exist. This is aversion, and as Steven Cope warned in “The Great Work of Your Life”, aversion affects our capacity to see clearly and has severe consequences:

  • When we are hating something, we do not tend to see it clearly.
  • We see the object of our hatred as all bad-not a mixture of bad and good and neutral as it really is.
  • And finally and probably most painfully aversive states are separation states, from myself and from others.
  • I hate this moment. Get me out of this moment. I do not want it to be like this.
  • Aversion is a seat in hell.  It separates us from now.
  • When the mind is colored by aversion we can never be at ease-can never have a moment’s peace

Struggle then, takes on a whole new meaning – it’s the aversion to struggle that creates the problem, that evades peace. We either believe that struggle can make us stronger or we don’t. We either embrace its blessings and possibilities or refuse to change our viewpoint. We either invite the promise of guaranteed  magnificence or slip into life as a doomed painful ordeal. Struggle forces us to think, it can break our hearts and bring us to our knees, but it will never, ever leave us abandoned… we do that. The call to action then is from this moment forward, to embrace struggle for the benefits it brings… NOW!

Synchronicity: the hidden language of FLOW

by Cheryl Brewster

We are surrounded by a sea of abundance that flows to us!

  • How many times do you think of someone and they call?
  • Do you see recurring sequences of numbers every time you see a digital time display, like 111, 333,  555, etc?
  • Have you pondered an important question to have a billboard or licence plate in front of you declare the answer?
  • When you’re looking for something have you had someone hand it to you without them knowing you needed it?
  • Have you waited in traffic or been detoured only to find the billboard message on a passing vehicle displays what you just finished telling someone at that exact moment?

The odds of having such coincidences occur is mind boggling.  Given the obvious intricate intelligence behind such occurrences, we must ask ourselves, if these things are happening without our conscious involvement, what could happen if we brought more awareness to them? Can you imagine the possibilities, solutions and innovations that could be accessed?! How could this impact our self development and personal effectiveness?

In her book Synchronicity and the Soul, Nancy Seifer explains that it was the power of synchronicity to overwhelm the rational mind that held significance for Carl Jung (1875-1961), the Swiss psychiatrist who coined the term and brought the phenomenon to light.  Jung recognized that synchronicity, which he defined as meaningful coincidence, had the effect of breaking through the “rationalistic shell” of the modern scientific mind.

“(Synchronicity) is a form of coincidence powerful enough to shatter the notion that material science has discovered all there is to know about the universe.  To the person having an experience of synchronicity, the realization dawns that a mysterious force is at play in the world—a kind of “cosmic clock” whose gears operate on a more subtle plane.”

This echoes Deepak Chopra’s poetic words that “Synchronicity is choreographed by a great, pervasive intelligence that lies at the heart of nature, and is manifest in each of us through intuitive knowledge.”

And this pervasive intelligence is ours even without asking! All we have to do is pay attention to the Signs, Symbols and Synchronicity at play in our lives.
We are surrounded by a sea of abundance… but are we actually in flow with it or fighting it?

I’ve been a fan of this amazing principle of intuition for as long as I can remember and find it incredibly helpful in important decision making  and in situations requiring more clarity and validation. I often tell the story in my seminars of how I used a “Bookmark” to determine when I should follow the call from my intuition to leave the corporate world to begin my own business as a professional intuitive.  Although I knew in my heart that this was the right thing to do, it didn’t match the rational thought of my upbringing… My mind screamed no and my heart say yes, even though I’d be leaving a great company, significant income with benefits, and most of all, the security of a guaranteed paycheck for  nothing but a gut feeling and a dream.

Setting a bookmark is a specific technique that finds its beginnings in ancient times and remains just as powerful today.  In my experience, I used a symbol that was fairly uncommon – a boomerang – the “bookmark agreement”with the Universe was that when a real boomerang came into my life, I would know that yes, now is the time to leave the job.  (But I must admit, because this was such a big decision, I thought I’d help the universe out by adding a proviso that either one real boomerang came into my life or three smaller ones which could be in the form of a TV commercial, ad on a billboard, etc).

You can imagine my shock and delight when after a couple of weeks, feeling rather disheartened that the symbol hadn’t arrived yet, I’d picked up a book that I’d recently purchased. The book itself wasn’t something I was particularly interested in, however my gut “told” me that I “had to buy it.” As I flipped through it, I came across an interesting paragraph and there, deep into the story did I not only find the word boomerang “three times,” but I also found the meaning of the word… the boomerang is a sacred symbol cautioning us not to hold onto things too tightly,  for it’s only in surrendering and giving them to the universe, that they can be returned to us in bigger ways.

WOW!

I was shaking. This was something that you see in the movies or read about in books… this happened to other people, not to me! And here I was, not only with three small boomerangs, but with the meaning of the word as a sacred symbol!  I gave my notice the next day and have been privileged to live an extraordinary life beyond anything I could have imagined because “I was willing to let go and not hang on too tight.”

Powerful, beyond all odds and four months later, when I taught my first intuitive workshop in Whistler, what did the store carry? Two decorative boomerangs which I promptly bought. The third I added to my collection when again, trusting my gut to go to a certain store, only to find a boomerang with the engraving “authentic souvenir of Australia.”

Having worked with synchronicity my entire life, to go through an experience as specific and mind blowing as this made a huge impact.  I’ve come to appreciate that when we ACTIVELY participate with the “great, pervasive intelligence that lies at the heart of nature,” not only do synchronicities happen with more frequency, so too do miracles. Can you imagine the impact to families, business and organizations to harness the power of synchronicity both as an art and tool of science for brainstorming and team building? Can you imagine the solution and innovation?  The possibilities are staggering, and like all great things, it begins with us as individuals to apply and hone the hidden language that Signs, Symbols and Synchronicity in our own lives, to test and prove them. To create more FLOW in your home and professional life, consider what would happen if you:

  • asked clear specific questions of the vast intelligence awaiting you?
  • paid attention to what you were thinking before a sign, symbol or synchronicity crossed your path?
  • asked for clear, specific signs to underline or highlight a feasible action or direction to take
  • did a life review of where synchronicity has been the most prevalent in your affairs
  • discovered when there was no synchronicity in your life to find the patterns that prevent rather than propel FLOW in your life
  • willing to participate more fully with this great pervasive intelligence?

Basic tools to grow your awareness and appreciation of Synchronicity and self improvement:

  • notice the thought you were thinking just before a synchronicity happened
  • be clear on your desires, write them down and expect their fulfillment, by feeling them here now
  • keep a journal to acknowledge synchronicity

Dead without Desire – Re-inspire your Life and Business

by Cheryl Brewster

What does the word desire mean to you?

  • Is it vibrantly alive in your life?
  • Are you ticking off those magnificent milestones on your bucket list which can be as simple as weekly bubble baths or as exotic as trips to far-off places?
  • Is it about achieving that long-held dream that you’ve held precious in your heart for as long as you can remember?
  • Or is it something that feels elusive, that you haven’t really nailed down yet, and can’t seem to?
  • Is it downright annoying that right now, you just don’t know what your desire is?
  • Conversely,  does it feel hedonistic, selfish or wrong; always last  on your list after you’ve taken care of your responsibilities in life… e.g., getting “reality” taken care of before you can “go out and play?”

Desire is a hugely important life component that needs cultivating. It’s the stuff  that life is made of… that first kiss, that first job or business deal, the answer to the question “I wonder what it would be like to…?”  Desire may start off as vibrant, raw energy seeking to express itself, or it may bubble up  quietly over time, into a non-negotiable, in your blood, irrevocable “I just have to” drive that focuses on nothing less than  full completion..

Like a burning ember, keen for the passion of potential completing itself, desire needs fuel to become the flame… it must be fed to grow into the exquisite brilliance of accomplishment..  Napoleon Hill said it best over 70 years ago:

Strong, richly rooted desire, is the starting point of all achievement,
not a hope, not a wish, but a keen pulsating desire which transcends everything.”

But how do we get there when we’re just not feeling the vibe?

Modern day Russian author Vadim Zeland describes some key components in his book Reality Transurfing in a chapter entitled “Forward to the Past:”

Don’t’ wait for the future… Bring it into the current moment… allow yourself to have, right here right now.
This is about DETERMINATION…
The intention to have, contrary to the process of constantly fighting yourself.
The determination to have contains by far, more power than the determination to act.
You need to be completely ready to let yourself have.

This is inspiring, “shake-it up” stuff ! In other words, drop the internal fighting, and be absolutely diligent and determined to have the mindset of “letting yourself have.”  It starts with a feeling, or in-your-bones-knowing.  Best selling Canadian author Danielle Laporte echoes Zeland’s words in her brilliant tell-it-like-it-is style in  The Desire Map:

You’re not chasing the goal, you’re chasing a FEELING you hope reaching the goal will give you.  We have the procedures of achievement upside down. We go after the stuff we want to have and accomplish outside of ourselves, and we hope and pray that we’ll feel great when we get there. It’s backwards. And it’s burning us out.

What if, first we got clear on how we actually wanted to feel in our life, and then we set our intentions?
What if your core desired feelings, consciously, informed how you plan your day, your year – your life?

All authors quoted in this blog are Conscious Changemakers  encouraging us to be bold in revolutionizing our lives by leading with desire. It’s important! Laporte’s words are riveting:

It’s OK to want what you want. In fact, if you don’t start there, with actually owning your desire, you are doomed.
Own the wanting. without apology, and all good things will start to flow from claiming the desire.
We can’t hedge with desire.

So looping back to the first question of this blog:
What does desire mean to you now?
Have you been hedging with it… just dipping your toe in, rather than diving in fully?
Have you let your desire energy wane?
Are you wanting to give up? Maybe you just need to make changes so desire can blossom through different channels?
Its okay when things don’t turn out the way we want or expect them to! It just means there’s something better; there is always an equal or greater benefit to any circumstance in our life… but we must be WILLING to look for it… and be completely ready to let ourselves have it.

What single thing can you do to harness the revitalizing power of desire

  • in your job, career or business?
  • with those you love?
  • with the state of your health, prosperity  or financial affairs?
  • with HOW you live your life?

Heady stuff, isn’t it?! How exciting to give flight to our innermost desires with determination to bring those core, accomplished feelings into the here and now. It’s where all of our best work is done… we’ve proven it before so let’s do it again! It’s time to cut loose from same old, and refresh, rejuvenate and re-inspire our lives and businesses… Take Your Stand for what you desire and feel its accomplishment here now!

The Healing Power of Imagination – It Works!!!

by Cheryl Brewster

Stress can be deadly. While short-term stress can create anxiousness and overwhelm, we know all too well, that the cumulative affects of stress over time diminishes both the quality and quantity of life. A 2013  report from the  American Psychological Association, American Institute of Stress, in New York reported that:

  • The annual costs to employers in stress related health care and missed work is $300 BILLION!
  • Of people who regularly experience physical symptoms, 77%  are caused by stress
  • 73% Regularly experience psychological symptoms caused by stress
  • 48% Feel their stress has increased over the past five years

What does this mean to you?

  • With 48% of those studied feeling that stress has increased over the past five years, you have a 50/50 chance of being a part of this growing statistic.
  • If you are a person committed to self growth, you are going to experience stress as you challenge your comfort zones
  • Finding tools that are effective, get results and reverse the stress/death connection are imperative
  • The ability to do things differently is paramount
  • One of the fastest, easiest, most effective tools is the healing power of imagination, and it costs us nothing! Except willingness,  a paradigm shift and a bit of time

How imagination heals

In his book Jung and the Alchemical Imagination, author Jeffrey Raff concludes that “disease is never a purely physical event, but includes the spirit as well.” He  says that imagination can be responsible for the onset of disease, and has a great part to play in its healing. Authors Ann and Barry Ulanov of the Healing Imagination concur; they believe  imagination helps us correspond to grace – that’s how it heals.

This is where it gets personal for each of us so using myself as an example: As a business intuitive I teach  big picture thinking,  as a coach I mentor spiritual healing , and as a  mother, to nurture and guide my children,  I rely on the healing power of imagination in::

  • its ability to get my attention
  • using all of my senses
  • waking me up to a bigger picture of life that includes  healing,  solutions and creativity that I couldn’t otherwise see
  • getting me  out of the nonsense of my negative self talk

Simple Strategies to harness the healing power of imagination:

  1. Ask yourself, “what would effortlessness do?” to get   out of the stress habit and into pure imagination
  2. Breathe into your imagination ….  create some space for it
  3. Use Active Imagination (a process that Carl Jung created), as the bridge between the conscious and the subconscious (this includes dream interpretation, visualization, and daydreaming)
  4. Whatever stress or illness may be in your life, view it as a movie…. how did it get there? What will help to heal it? Notice the pictures, images or body sensations that you experience
  5. Commit to take some form of action…. write down what had the most compelling energy from the above  and use discernment… will action on your part take you further into grace or farther away from it?
  6. Do more of what you love… the state changes created from simple things like your favorite song, exercise,  a favorite flavor of chewing gum or fresh flowers take you to a much higher energy frequency which improves corresponding critical thinking and decision making
  7. Pay attention to signs, symbols and synchronicity
  8. Have a check-in or feedback loop to test and measure the results so you can drop what doesn’t work and expand what does

Embrace Simplicity
Stress becomes ugly, rampant and deadly when we lose our capacity to live from our imagination. Just take a look at the results in your life right now: where there’s shortage, lack or illness, there will be one of two things: lack of positive imagination or undisciplined, negative imagination. Until you become aware, nothing will change… the steps outlined here are beautifully simple. Are they so simple however, that you won’t take them? Imagine what would happen if you did?
