Mindfulness and Meaning
Today rather than meditate at home, I took my meditation into the forest where I enjoyed the most spectacular walk on some new trails... I call my special Forest "God's Cathedral" - and love to go there - infusing my body and mind with vibrant greens in hundreds of different variations, a soft breeze, and the spectacular Golden Ears Mountains off in the distance - what a great way to practice mindfulness.
However, given I've been very busy lately, I wasn't surprised at how hard I was finding it to go into stillness today... the deeper I walked into the forest, the busier my mind became until finally, I imagined that as I was walking down the trails, I was leaving all of my to-do's, timelines and concerns in a basket that God/my Higher Self would take care of. As I closed the lid on the basket in my mind's eye, it felt wonderful to be reminded of the expansiveness rather than the restriction of my soul's experience. And yet restriction encourages expansion - what a great combination and important for me to remember - whenever I feel restricted, short of time, energy or capacity.... I have created an opportunity to come from Source... my soul's calling...and there I meet myself and my sense of the divine at deeper and deeper levels.
